I'm super excited to finally launch my new science podcast at https://www.scienceisfuncast.com/, also on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. This has been a really fun side project for the past year and I've now got a dozen or so episodes in the vault. Looking forward to releasing them to the world and I hope someone out there enjoys listening to them as much as I've enjoying recording them.

After 3 weeks of 1 lonely person working alone in the lab we're back to 25% capacity. Sadly, I still didn't make the cut, but living vicariously through our lab members' new experimental data.

We're thrilled to welcome Moriah to virtually join UCSF from her home base in Texas. Hopefully someday soon we'll be in person but for now we're looking forward to lots of mass spec analyses, data pipelines, planning, grant writing, and other remote activities!

At the request of the UCSF leadership we are now operating a small "skeleton crew" that is maintaining the Gnotobiotic Core and our SPF colony. Everyone else is hunkered down at home enjoying some experiment-free days.
